ABOUT HOLLY

Hi!  I'm Holly!

I was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).  At hours old, I had life saving surgery and then had two open-heart surgeries when I was 9 and 10. Needless to say, I have spent a great deal of time in the hospital and in medical settings throughout my life.

Whether I was at the hospital for a long term stay or just a quick checkup, I dreaded putting on the uncomfortable, drab hospital gown that made me feel even more like “the sick kid”.  As an adult, I still cringe whenever I have to put one on.

I created patented hospital apparel that is inspiring and functional, offering plastic snaps at seams to allow multiple outputs and accessibility for monitor lines, IVs, casts, ports, and all the other things that can make a hospital stay uncomfortable.

I'm passionate about transforming healthcare by clothing patients with love so I decided to form Holly’s Heart

Holly's Heart, a Texas nonprofit corporation, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to spread joy to hospitalized patients and to offer encouragement to individuals suffering from a medical condition.

If you’ve ever had to wear a hospital gown, even for a brief moment, then you can relate to how it immediately lowers your self-esteem; making you feel broken and defective, while skyrocketing an already present feeling of vulnerability.  It’s unbelievable how a few yards of thin cotton negatively affects one’s attitude, outlook, personality and sense of self.

Medical studies have been conducted that establish patients who feel comfortable in their environment heal quicker and have better health outcomes than those who do not due to the negative physiological impact of stress and anxiety on the human body and its ability to recover.

With your help, we can provide our partner hospitals and organizations consistent and tailored deliveries of this unique and purposeful hospital apparel, clothing newborn to teen and adult patients with love.  Will you be their hero?
